Volunteering

Our Society relies on the commitment and contribution of Volunteers in a variety of roles.

These include:

Membership of the Society’s Committee
Assistance with meetings including set up (technical and seating), greeting visitors, organising supper, packing up
Research for newsletter articles and general enquiries
Organising the speaker program
Assisting with Collection management, including scanning material, indexing files, cataloguing and data entry and simple conservation of materials. Relevant training is provided through periodic workshops.

New volunteers are always welcome. Time commitment is up to the individual, depending on their availability and other commitments, either on a regular or once off basis.

Sue Barnett is the Archivist of the Surrey Hills Historical Society Collection. Sue is assisted by a small group of dedicated volunteers. New volunteers are very welcome.
