SHP0050 – Our Holy Redeemer Church, Mont Albert Road

Our Holy Redeemer Church in Mont Albert Road was built in 1902 and blessed and opened by Archbishop Thomas Carr on 11 May that year. The land for the church had been purchased in 1901 on behalf of Fr George Robinson, Parish Priest of Camberwell, by Miss Amy Castles, a well-known opera singer and a friend of Fr Robinson. This photo was taken before 1912. The exterior of the church was later rendered and painted white. (Date not known)
