Almost exactly a year after our first Open Day, Surrey Hills Historical Society and Canterbury History Group combined to showcase elements of our collections and the services we provide for the community.
Emily Grant, Local & Family History Lead from Boroondara Library Services, again attended to provide information about ‘How to research your house’ using the library’s resources. This complimented information provided by graphic artist Margaret Picken’s sketches of local homes and the information available in the Alan Holt property registers.
However, it was undoubtedly film historian Chris Long’s penultimate compilation of Norman Carter’s 1937 to 1950 films of local sites and events that had everyone fascinated.
